Dear Friends:
You are cordially invited to the 8th Annual Washington State Chinese Language and Talent Competition Award Ceremony and Performance organized by the Washington Association for American and Chinese Education (WAACE) and our partners. WAACE is a student-run, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to creating awareness and generating interest in the Chinese language and culture, as well as connecting Chinese learning with other subjects in the U.S. education system. Our goal is to give American students the competitive edge and global perspective needed to succeed in the modern day economy.
The Washington State Chinese Language and Talent Competition (WCLTC) is the largest and most renowned Chinese competition in the state. This year 463 contestants representing 158 different public and private schools, Chinese heritage institutions and home tutoring programs signed up to compete in 10 categories.
The award ceremony, recognizing and showcasing the achievements of K-12 students learning the Chinese language and culture, will be held at Chief Sealth International School from 2:00-4:00 on Sunday, May 28 (Address: 2600 SW Thistle St, Seattle, WA 98126). Selected first place winners who represent the highest level of Chinese learning, will perform live at the ceremony. We will also present the 2017 Why Learn Chinese Competition awards at the same ceremony.
It would be a great pleasure if we could see you over there. Your presence and support would be instrumental to our success, and by supporting us you would help our students and teachers show the community their passion for language learning and teaching.
Thank you for your support.  We look forward to seeing you on March 28, 2017.
Best regards,
Washington Association for American and Chinese Education
